Institute for Incoming Office bearers 2011-12 
The meeting was called to order by the Presidents of the host clubs, Mrs. Gayathri Rao of IWCB East and Mrs. Indira Raghu of IWCB Peenya. A melodious invocation was rendered by President Elect, Mrs. Uma Sai Ram, from the host club IWCB East. The decoration of the dais was done by the Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore Peenya and the theme was “Mango Theme”. Lighting of the decorated lamp was done by all the dignitaries on the dais, to signify the beginning of the meeting. President of the Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore Peenya Mrs. Indira Raghu welcomed District Chairman, Mrs. Renu Iyer, District Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, Past District Chairmen, District officers and the club officers – Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, ISOs and the Editors from the other clubs and handed over the proceedings to District Chairman Mrs. Renu Iyer. In the opening remarks of her speech, District Chairman Mrs. Renu Iyer, after welcoming the gathering, assured the officers elect that this program would be informative and meaningful for all of them and she wished the best to District Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, for the upcoming year. She also conveyed her best wishes to the incoming club officers and then handed over the proceedings to District Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh. The Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, after welcoming everyone to the Institute spoke about the purpose of the meet. Mrs. Amutha also informed that the Past District Chairmen will guide all the officers to perform their duties to the best of their abilities. She stressed on team work as being vital for the progress of all of the clubs’ administrative as well as service activities. She requested the Past District Chairmen to address the Incoming Club Officers for the year 2011 – 12. Past District Chairman Mrs. Sobhana Ramesh briefed them about the Constitution and Protocol of Inner Wheel through a power point presentation. Past District Chairmen Mrs. Bhavani Srinivas, Mrs. Bharathi Udaykumar, Mrs. Mini Jayaprakash, Mrs. Rekha Babu and Mrs. Saila Chandrasekhar briefed the Presidents, Secretaries, Treasurers, ISOs, and Editors respectively. Then the officers dispersed into their respective groups for more in-depth learning of their duties. A game was conducted by the host club IWCB East to make the event more fun and interactive. District Vice Chairman, Mrs. Meena Amblee, had conducted a quiz based on the knowledge gained that day by the incoming officers. Rotarian, Mr. Ananth, addressed the gathering about economical printing methods. Then the Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, rounded off the briefing session in her concluding remarks, talking about leadership qualities in a capsule of a ‘Sweet Sixteen Formula’. Before the end of the day’s program, Amutha Suresh made the following announcements: 1) she announced that the District Assembly, “LAKSHYA” will be held on Tuesday, July 5th, 2011, at Unnati auditorium. It would be a breakfast to lunch meet. To make the event more interesting, it would commence with a cultural program. After the inaugural session, the Presidents of some of the clubs would be getting installed. She requested everyone to be a part of the celebrations. She also announced that to reduce the cost and increase the attendance, several events would be combined this year. 2) Presidents’ First Meet will be hosted by IWC Bangalore on August 27th, 2011 along with the Editors’ Meet. 3) IIW President Ms. Catherine would be visiting Bangalore in September 2011. Her visit would be combined with the Intercity Meet, which would be held as a Multi District Rally on September 19th 2011. Past Association President, Mrs. Shailaja Bhat, would be the convener for this event. 4) The Pulse Polio Workshop will be organized along with the Presidents’ Second meet on November 5th 2011. IWCB Banashankari will host this event. 5) The District Conference would be combined with the International Inner Wheel Day on the 10th of January 2012. District Chairman Elect, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, requested the presence of each and every one at all the above events. She also requested that all those present at the District Assembly be seated till the Association President's concluding remarks. She expressed that she would be happy to see more members at all the District events and urged the officers to motivate members of their clubs to attend all the events in large numbers. She thanked all the officers for their presence and active participation. Amutha Suresh concluded by expressing her thanks to the Past District Chairmen for taking time out to brief the officers and the host clubs for putting up a successful event. District Vice Chairman, Mrs. Meena Amblee, then gave a formal vote of thanks on behalf of the District. President, Mrs. Gayathri Rao of IWCB East, proposed a formal vote of thanks on behalf of the host clubs. The meeting was adjourned by the host club Presidents – Mrs. Gayathri Rao and Mrs. Indira Raghu. The program concluded with rendition of the National Anthem.

PDC Get-together 
Mrs. Asha Shailendra, Mrs. Malavika Krishnamurthy, Mrs. Suma Ravi, Mrs. Girija Ananth and Editor Elect, 2011-12, Mrs. Padmini Nagachandra were present to welcome Past District Chairmen Mrs. Kamala Padmanaban, Mrs. Shaila Vishweshwaraiah, Mrs. Saroja Thyagarajan, Mrs. Sudha Rajashekar, Mrs. Shardha Shastry, Mrs. Rukmini Krishnaswamy, Mrs. Nirmala Nandakumar, Mrs. Sudha Gururaj Rao, Mrs. Bharathi Ramdas, Mrs. Mini Jayaprakash, Mrs. Shaila Chandrasekhar, Mrs. Shobana Ramesh, and Mrs. Bharathi Udaykumar to the meet. The meeting was called to order by the District Chairman Mrs. Renu Iyer. The Inner Wheel prayer was recited by all. Mrs. Renu Iyer then welcomed all the Past District Chairmen and thanked them for their support and guidance throughout her tenure as District Chairman in 2010-11. Mrs. Renu Iyer said that the new Inner Wheel Club of Nagamangala would be having its charter presentation function on 15th June 2011. She also congratulated Mrs. Amutha Suresh for arranging a trip to Sri Lanka where the South Asia Rally was held in April 2011. Mrs. Renu Iyer then wished Amutha all the best for a fruitful year 2011-12 as the District Chairman and handed over the proceedings to the Chairman Elect. Mrs. Amutha welcomed all the Past District Chairmen and the EC Members. She thanked them for accepting her invitation and also asked them to feel free to give their suggestions. She informed everyone that she had attended the Institute for Incoming Chairmen hosted by Inner Wheel Club of Ajmer, District 305, at Ajmer on 1st and 2nd of April 2011. She said that the Institute was a memorable, educative and fun experience. She said that the IIW theme for year 2011-12 was ‘Think Ahead-Aim High’. The installation of the Association President and the Association EC and the Association Council would be held on 19th June 2011 at Anand, Gujarat. Association President, Dr. Bina Vyas had informed Amutha that the IIW President, Mrs. Catherine Refabert, would be visiting Bangalore on the 19th or 20th of September 2011. Amutha also said that our District had been given an opportunity to host the Institute for Incoming Chairmen, 2012-13, in April 2012. Amutha said that during the question hour, she had enquired whether the Association Secretary and Association Treasurer could be elected by all the clubs instead of the Association EC and the 27 A.C. members only. After some discussion, Association CCC Chairman, Mrs. Charu Chinchankar said that such a proposal could probably be brought up at the Triennial Conference in 2013. Association President Elect Dr. Bina Vyas was going to arrange for Membership Development Seminars to be held at four different zones. For the south zone, District 316 will be hosting this event on August 2nd 2011 at Chitradurga. For this meeting District Chairman, District E.S.O and Membership Development Committee members are invited. Amutha informed that the 35th District Assembly – “Lakshya”- will be held on 5th July 2011 at Unnati Auditorium. She invited all the Past District Chairmen for the same. She also informed that the Presidents of the clubs who wished to get their installation on the same day could do so after her installation, since it would be economical for the clubs. She wanted to know whether the Intercity meet could be conducted in September 2011, during the IIW President’s visit, as a Multi District Rally. She also asked if the IIW day and the District Conference could be conducted on the same day i.e., on January 10th 2012. All the Past District Chairmen accepted the above suggestions. Mrs. Amutha informed that she would be inviting all the editors along with the Clubs’ office bearers for the Institute. She also asked if we could request Rotarian Ananth to brief us about the role of the Editor in the institute. This was accepted by all the Past District Chairmen present. They also suggested that a Past District Chairman should also brief the Editors. Mrs. Suma Ravi , Treasurer Elect, read out the Provisional budget for the year 2011-12. Mrs. Renu Iyer asked if the balance amount from the year 2010-11 could be utilized for the major events instead of being put in a Fixed Deposit. This suggestion was accepted by the Past District Chairmen and this could be proposed at the Business Session of the District Assembly. Amutha also wanted to know if the contribution for the Institute for Incoming Club Officers could be raised from Rs.3000/- to Rs.5000/-. Everyone agreed. This has to be, however, passed at the District Assembly. For the special events to be conducted in September 2011 and April 2012, the Chairman Elect suggested bringing out a souvenir for fund raising and to maintain a separate account for the said funds. She informed the members that the Treasurer for the special events will be Mrs. Renu Iyer and Conveners for Multi District Rally and Institute for Incoming Chairmen 2012 – 13 are PAP Mrs. Shailaja Bhat and PDC Mrs. Sobhana Ramesh respectively. All the Past District Chairmen congratulated the District Chairman Mrs. Renu Iyer for the success of her tenure during 2010-11 and wished District Chairman Elect Mrs. Amutha Suresh all the best for her tenure. District Chairman Elect – Mrs. Amutha Suresh thanked all the Past District Chairmen for attending the get-together and invited them all to attend the 35th District Assembly –“Lakshya” on the 5th of July 2011. District Chairman, Mrs.Renu Iyer, adjourned the meeting and this was followed by lunch hosted by District Chairman Elect Mrs. Amutha Suresh.

The Presidents and members of the Inner Wheel Club of Bangalore North accorded a warm welcome to the Association President Dr. Bina Vyas, District 3190 Governor, Rtn. Pandurang Potnis, and first lady Mrs. Prema Pandurang Potnis, District Chairman, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, and all the District Executive Committee members, escorting them from the entrance into the auditorium with a lot of grace, carrying ‘purnakumbhas’. The Incoming Chairman. The name “Lakshya” was given to the District Assembly, in accord with the IIW Theme of “Think Ahead-Aim High. There was an inaugural dance by Lakshana Sharan, daughter-in-law of Mrs. Kamala Priya, President of IWCB West, followed by a dance by the Presidents (2011 – 12) of a few clubs, depicting the Assembly theme – “Save Water – Save Earth”. The meeting was called to order by District Chairman (2010 – 11), Mrs. Renu Iyer, after a melodious invocation by Mrs. Gayathri Kongovi and Mrs. Veena Ananth from the incoming chairman’s home club. The Inner Wheel prayer was then recited by the District Treasurer (2010 – 11) Mrs. Malavika Krishnamurthy and all the members present. District Chairman (2010 – 11), Mrs. Renu Iyer, extended a warm welcome to the Association President Dr. Bina Vyas, Committee members, Past Association President Mrs. Shailaja Bhat, Past District Chairmen, District Chairmen of Districts District 3190, all the voting delegates and Inner Wheel members, Rotarians and guests. Mrs. Renu Iyer thanked all the Presidents, members, Past District Chairmen, District Executive Committee members, her home club members, and her family for their support and cooperation. She also mentioned that it was a pleasure working as the District Chairman. District 11. The proceedings were then continued by Citation Committee Chairman- Past District Chairman Mrs. Rukmini Swamy and Panel member- Past District Chairman, Mrs. Mini Jayaprakash. They appreciated the wonderful service projects taken up and completed by all the Inner Wheel Clubs. The clubs were awarded certificates of appreciation, which were handed over to the club Presidents of 2010 – 11 by Association President Dr. Bina Vyas. A Bulletin competition had been organized by District Editor (2010 – 11), Mrs. Girija Ananth, and was judged by Past clubs- IWC Bangalore and IWCB Southwest. From among the clubs outside Bangalore city, the prize was awarded to Then it was time for a change of guard of District 319. Incoming Chairman Mrs. Amutha Suresh was introduced by Amutha Suresh as the 35th District Chairman of District 319. Lighting of beautifully decorated lamps by the new District Chairman, all the dignitaries on the dais and all the Presidents of the clubs symbolically signified the beginning of the new Inner Wheel Year. The new team was then introduced by District Chairman, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, in a new refreshing way, based on vaastu and their qualities. She thanked her club members for their support. She said that the way forward. She emphasized on significant membership growth, projects related to saving our planet, publicity for District ISO Mrs. Girija Ananth read out the messages of goodwill received from the Inner Wheel and Rotary members from other Districts as well as ours. Association President, Dr. Bina Vyas, was introduced to the gathering by AC member, Mrs. Renu Iyer. While addressing the gathering, Association President stressed upon adopting convention will be in 2012 at Turkey and the Triennial Conference would be held in 2013 at Hyderabad. The District Governor, Rtn. Pandurang Potnis, was introduced by District Editor Mrs. Padmini Nagachandra and he cooperation to Inner Wheel. Club Presidents and teams of IWCB North and IWCB Koramangala were installed by District Chairman, Mrs. Amutha Suresh, after they had been introduced by District Vice Chairman Mrs. Meena Amblee. This was the first time that this had happened in our District. District Vice Chairman Mrs. Meena Amblee then proposed the vote of thanks, thanking Association President Dr. Bina Vyas, Rotary District Governor Rtn. Pandurang Potnis and First Lady Mrs. Prema Pandurang, Past Association President Mrs. Shailaja Bhat, Past District Chairmen, all the members, Rotarians and guests. She thanked all the members who contributed to the success of the function. She specially thanked the members of IWCB The meeting was adjourned by District Chairman, Mrs. Amutha Suresh.
